In Hogwarts Mystery, players are able to create a wizard in their own visage, take classes at the prodigious wizard academy, make friends with other students, and unravel the mysteries of a retro 1980s Hogwarts.
Developers Jam City have crammed nearly 200,000 words into the game thus far, meeting the average length of one of the actual novels.
In the vein of other mobile choose your own adventure games, players will have to spend energy to take actions. Each action costs energy, and energy is automatically restored over time. It can also be refilled via an in-app purchase.
Don’t let that scare you away just yet, though – there’s so much content in the game, from classes to sleuthing and everything in between, that just about any Harry Potter fan should find it hard to resist.
